ON-SITE SKETCHING AND TONAL VALUES

This assignment is an introduction to sketching as a means of legible communication. We were required to produce sketches through our observation and perception of space within campus. Also, to enhance the sketches through different tonal and depth values.
ORTHOGRAPHIC PROJECTIONS

PART A
Part A required us to produce orthographic drawings of a furniture. In this case, the studio table. Through this projections, we had to show our ability in drafting and application of methods such as line weights and line types.
PART B
In Part B, we were assigned to produce orthographic drawings of the Margaret Esherick House. It aims to show a more in-depth understanding of orthographic projections; producing drawings with the correct scale, applying architectural conventions and symbols as well as clarity of drawings.

AXONOMETRIC PROJECTION

Using the same model, we were tasked to produce an axonometric projection. With this, we were asessed by the ability to show spatial ideas and architectural details that will in turn provide or should provide a clearer presentation.
PERSPECTIVE DRAWING

This assignment tests us in our understanding of different types of perspective. Also, to show correct techniques in generating a one-point and two-point perspective.
FINISHING AND PRESENTATION

The last task requires us to show our overall understanding from all past assignments.
From our model that we have created in Design Studio 1, we had to produce drawings for presentation. The selection of drawing techniques that will best showcase your own design was crucial. Also, creating drawings that give clarity whilst applying correct drafting techniques.
